As a long term educator, Cara Littlefield has worked to transform schools away from the traditional school model of classroom-based learning. She is a firm believer in experience-based, place-based, project based learning as the most effective model for most learners. Home school educators have a unique platform to make this model personalized and meaningful for their own students. In order to best prepare students for the math they will encounter in college and in STEM fields, the Common Core provides an essential framework around which we can build our teaching.
For more than 20 years, Cara Littlefield has worked as a teacher, curriculum specialist and education consultant in both public and charter schools in the United States and United Kingdom. With an undergraduate degree in Elementary Math Education from the University of Dayton, a Masters Degree in Math, Science and Technology from Cal State University – San Marcos, and the benefit of decades of collaboration with innovative math educators from around the world, Cara has accumulated a toolbox of proven strategies and ideas that enable her to reach and make a meaningful impact with a diverse group of learners.
